What is Skill India?

What is PMKVY?

PMKVY provides structured short-term training (often 200–600 hours depending on job role) with defined learning outcomes aligned to National Occupational Standards (NOS). Students train at authorized centers, complete attendance and practical work, then face independent assessment before certification.

Scheme names, funding rules and batch availability evolve. Always confirm current batch details with an authorized training partner or official MSDE/NSDC announcements — do not rely on old social media posts alone.

Role of NSDC & sector skill councils

The National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) works with sector skill councils (SSCs) — industry-led bodies that define job roles, curricula and assessment standards for fields like IT, retail, healthcare, beauty and logistics. When you enroll in a recognized program, you are usually training against a specific job role (for example, Domestic Data Entry Operator or Retail Sales Associate), not a vague “computer course.”
