Self Employed Tailor

This course trains you to stitch garments for customers and run your own tailoring work. You learn to operate and care for the machine, take body measurements, draft patterns, cut fabric with minimum waste and stitch garments with neat necklines, sleeves and collars. The course also covers finishing, alterations and quality checks, and how to deal with customers and price your work.

There are two levels. The 3-month programme covers the core skills and basic garments. The 6-month advanced programme adds professional cutting, blouse, salwar and dress making, alterations and boutique management. It suits women and men who want to earn from home or open a small tailoring shop.
