A certificate proves you trained. Digital skills prove you can email, save a PDF, fill a form, and message a customer without panic. Checklist below — no high-end laptop required to start.

Digital baseline (start here)

Before specialized courses, you should comfortably:

• Turn on a computer, connect to Wi‑Fi, use mouse and keyboard
• Create, save and find files in folders — not desktop clutter only
• Use browser tabs, downloads and basic search
• Install updates when the center IT staff or trainer advises

Professional communication online

Many Indian jobs coordinate on WhatsApp — that is normal, but professionalism still counts:

• Avoid voice notes to unknown HR contacts unless they prefer them

Students are often targeted by fake job and “training certificate” scams. Basic rules:

• Never pay “interview slot” fees to unknown numbers
• Verify training center address and registration in person
• Do not share OTP, Aadhaar copies or bank PIN with callers
• Use official sites for certificate verification — not random links

Digital job search habits

1. One-page resume PDF updated with course, certificate number, verification link
2. Profiles on one major job portal — filled completely, not blank half pages
3. Local Telegram/WhatsApp job groups — filter scams, never pay deposits
4. Google Maps search “offices near me” for walk-in enquiries in industrial areas

Digital skills after you earn certification

Your certificate is digital-friendly: employers verify online. Screenshot your verification page once, store the URL in your phone notes, and add it to resume footer. When you join work, you may use:

• Biometric attendance apps
• Google Drive or internal ERP (like center training apps)
• UPI and payment reconciliation

Students who start on smartphone only

Many learners first use WhatsApp and YouTube on phone — that is fine. For job-ready digital skills, move early to keyboard practice. Thumb-typing alone will not survive a full office shift. Centers with evening lab slots help students who share one family computer.

Save important documents in Google Drive or email them to yourself — losing a resume because the phone was reset is more common than people admit.

At the workplace — first month checklist

• Learn where files are saved on the office PC — do not store only on desktop

• Note IT person or senior who can reset passwords if locked out
